The Rice Fair of Isola della Scala is at its 44th edition and once again it proves to be the greatest event in this field, as testified by these figures: 500,000 visitors and 350,000 portions of risotto supplied.
The several meetings arranged in Europe during last years showed the relevance that Rice Fair has gained and is still gaining abroad: Ente Fiera was hosted by the European Parliament in Brussels and by the Iberic Conference on Rice, in Spain.
It is in response to the increasing incitements coming from outside Veneto that Ente Fiera in 2007 established inside the Rice Fair Risitaly, the National Meeting on Rice, a show totally based on rice, this year at its fourth edition. Exhibitors who handle rice growing, processing and manufacturing will come to Isola della Scala from all over Italy. In addition, a lot of events and meetings, machinery show, gastronomic meetings will be organized.
In the little village called “Isola dei Sapori”, people will have the opportunity to taste specialty foods from all over Italy: various kinds of cheese, oils, mushrooms and many other foodstuffs thanks to which Italy is renowned and well appreciated for all over the world.
During the 44th edition of Rice Fair young people will be appealed by a lot of attractions, such as concerts, shows and various events. In addition, there will be exhibitions, escorted tours, theatrical performances, street markets for kids will be organized and a great number of exhibitors will come from all over Italy.
In 2007, Nano Vialone Rice P.G.I., on which the famous recipe of of Isola della Scala Risotto is based, celebrated its 70 years of age.
